fiskaly. awarded EY Scale-up of the Year 2025 - “Software and Digital Transformation”
fiskaly was awarded Scale-up of the Year in the “Software & Digital Transformation” category, honoring the company’s exceptional growth, technological innovation, and its leading role in advancing the digital transformation of fiscalization across Europe.
The EY Scale-up Award is one of the most prestigious honors for high-growth companies in Austria. Through a multi-stage selection process—including a Growth Maturity Assessment, benchmarking, and live pitch presentations—an independent jury of top-tier experts selected the winners across various categories.
Johannes Ferner, CEO and Co-founder of fiskaly:
"This award means a lot to us: it recognizes the courage to rethink something as rigid as fiscal compliance. From the beginning, our ambition was to challenge the assumption that complexity is inevitable. We built a truly digital solution, making compliance simple and effortless. I’m deeply proud of the entire fiskaly team – your drive, your passion, and your belief in our vision made this possible. Thank you to EY and the jury for this honor. The journey is far from over – we’re only getting started."
When new fiscalization regulations were introduced in Germany in 2020, fiskaly pursued an innovative approach: digital, cloud-based fiscalization solutions that integrate directly into POS systems – without any additional hardware. This was not only a technological breakthrough but marked a paradigm shift in fiscalization: scalable, instantly deployable—and fully certified and compliant. This approach positioned fiskaly as a true innovation driver across the entire sector.
The EY Award also honors a milestone year in fiskaly’s journey: With the acquisition of Deutsche Fiskal in March 2025, fiskaly further strengthened its position as a sector champion in cloud-based fiscalization. This acquisition not only reinforces fiskaly’s presence in the German market but also combines technological excellence with deep industry expertise in chain retail.
fiskaly and Deutsche Fiskal are active in Germany, Austria, Spain, and Italy serving more than 1,600 B2B clients with nearly 1 Mio. POS systems —including providers such as orderbird, SumUp, and Lightspeed, as well as major retail chains. The cloud-based services have processed more than 10 billion transactions, creating up to 130 Mio. signatures on busy shopping days.
With over 90 employees from more than 25 nationalities and a clear API-first approach, fiskaly is ready to enter its next phase of growth across Europe.
We sincerely thank EY and the entire jury for this award and the recognition of our journey.
