DevOps Team Lead (all genders)

The Role: For DF Deutsche Fiskal GmbH, part of the fiskaly group we are seeking a DevOps Team Lead, who ensures reliable operation of our cloud product while guiding a skilled team of DevOps engineers. Your role bridges leadership, architecture, operations, and agile delivery practices. We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader with a strong engineering background and a passion for agile DevOps culture for our subsidiary DF Deutsche Fiskal GmbH

Your Responsibilities

  • You lead and develop an international DevOps engineering team, aligning team goals with product and business strategy while fostering a culture of collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • You mentor and support your team members through coaching, performance development, and by guiding recruitment, capacity planning, and onboarding of new engineers.
  • You take technical ownership of our cloud operations (preferably in MS Azure), ensuring high system reliability, scalability, and performance in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You drive the evolution of our Kubernetes-based cloud architecture and are responsible for robust CI/CD processes and modern DevOps practices.
  • You automate and optimize deployment, monitoring, and maintenance workflows using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Opentofu, and GitLab CI/CD.
  • You ensure operational excellence by managing incident, problem, and change processes and by designing and optimizing our development, test, and production environments.
  • Introduce and scale the use of AI/ML-powered tools in DevOps workflows (e.g., for predictive monitoring, smart alerting, log analysis, and auto-remediation)
  • Stay ahead of DevOps trends, especially those involving generative AI, LLM-based assistants, and AI-integrated observability platforms

Required Qualifications

  • You successfully completed technical studies or equivalent IT training
  • You have a proactive mindset, team spirit, and worked  in a cross-functional, international setting
  • You’re already applying AI and automation tools in DevOps—for example, using AI for log parsing, CI/CD optimization, anomaly detection, or smart auto-scaling
  • You encourage your team to explore and adopt AI-powered DevOps solutions to improve resilience, speed, and scalability
  • You have proven experience in leading international development or DevOps or Operations teams and you have the ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Or you want to reach the next level and start your leadership role based on 5 years DevOps experience.
  • You have hands-on experience with: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Infrastructure as Code is not new to you: Terraform, Opentofu
  • You worked with CI/CD Tools like GitLab and your preferred Operating Systems are SLES, RedHat, CoreOS, Ubuntu
  • You worked with Cloud Platforms, preferably with MS Azure 
  • You have experience Bash, Golang, Python (Java – e.g., Spring Boot, Liberty – is a plus)
  • For Observability & Monitoring you worked with: Elastic Search, fluentD, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus
  • You worked in an agile setting: Practical knowledge of Scrum and Kanban
  • You worked with Databases like MongoDB, Redis (or comparable systems)
  • You have experience in Application Management, DevOps Operations, Networking & Cloud Infrastructure Administration
  • You preferred Atlassian Tools are JIRA, Confluence
  • Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and a high sense of responsibility
  • You have a passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and applying new practices
