Legal Counsel (all genders)

Location: in / near Vienna or Berlin

Language requirements: German native, English fluent

Experience requirements: 5 year as full time legal counsel

Gross salary range: EUR 65-80k/year

Employment type: full time with 10h overtime monthly allowance, no free-lancing

The Role: The colleague filling this crucial role is responsible for overseeing all legal aspects within fiskaly and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local and international laws, and supporting various departments with legal advice on a wide range of matters, from contract negotiations to data protection.
As a legal counsel at fiskaly, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal framework that supports our innovative fiscalization products and services.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll be working closely with CEO, COO, Head of Sales, our product teams, IT and Information Security

  • You’ll be developing and refining SaaS terms and conditions for both individual and general contracts, ensuring they are tailored to meet the needs of our diverse client base while adhering to various international laws and regulations

  • You’ll create comprehensive terms and conditions for our company and its subsidiaries, designed to support our unique business model and facilitate our growth in existing and new markets

  • You’ll be negotiating enterprise contracts with customers, leveraging your expertise to establish agreements that are beneficial and fair, ensuring long-term success for both parties

  • You’ll drive and support negotiations with suppliers, to secure favorable terms that contribute to our operational efficiency and product excellence

  • You’ll be in communication with authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, securing necessary approvals, and fostering positive relationships that benefit our business operations

  • You’ll provide legal support across all departments, including CEO, COO, CTO, information security, data protection, business development in international markets, requirement analysis for fiscalization products, and employment matters. Your role will be critical in navigating the complex legal landscapes that impact various aspects of our business

  • You’ll be engaging with a wide range of legal contexts, such as tax law, corporate law, contract law, labor law, and data protection. Our niche is highly regulated, and your expertise will be key in ensuring our products not only meet but exceed the legal standards required in the markets we serve

  • You are proficient in identifying legal “construction sites” within the company and fixing them

You'll impress us if

  •  You have experiences in a regulated technology area

  • You have experiences within the SaaS Startup / Scaleup industry

  • You have experience in the fields of tax law, corporate law, contract law, labor law, data protection, … 

  • You’re able to properly assess the impact and risks of having contracts under Austrian, German, Spanish and Italian law. 

  • You have professional working proficiency in a language other than German or English

  • You demonstrate a deep understanding of the fiscalization niche and the specific legal challenges it presents, including international expansion

  • You have shown the ability to develop innovative legal strategies that not only ensure compliance but also support business objectives and growth

  • You have a proven track record of successfully handling legal matters in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment, particularly in international settings

  • You possess additional qualifications or expertise in international law

  • You dare to lead, and to discover new ways of solving complex problems, you are willing to develop yourself
