🚀 Join fiskaly! Help Us Simplify Receipts for Millions
Millions of people interact with fiskaly every day, even if they don't realize it. As a B2B company, we power the retail technology behind digital receipts and secure, legally compliant transactions.
By making receipts tamper-proof through digital signatures, we help fight tax fraud. And with our paperless receipt solution, we offer consumers a modern alternative while helping merchants streamline their operations.
Sure, our solutions sound complex but our mission is simple: make receipts easy for everyone.
💼 The Role
As our Senior People Operations Specialist, you own the operational backbone of the employee experience at fiskaly. From signed offer to last working day, across every country where we employ people. You'll be the person who makes sure contracts are right, payroll runs clean, onboarding feels effortless, and our People processes scale as fast as the company does.
This is a senior individual contributor role with real ownership. You won't be executing someone else's playbook, you'll be writing it, automating it, and improving it. We are an AI-first company, and we expect that mindset in People Ops too: if a process can be automated, documented, or made self-service, you'll be the one to make it happen.
🛠️ What You'll Do
- Own the full employee lifecycle operationally: contracts, onboarding, changes (promotions, comp adjustments, relocations), parental leaves, and offboarding across Austria and our other European employment entities
- Run and coordinate monthly payroll preparation with our external payroll providers in multiple countries, and be the internal point of truth for payroll, benefits and social insurance questions
- Ensure labor law compliance across all our employment countries, coordinating with local counsel and providers so that contracts, working time, leave and terminations are handled correctly in every market
- Own and continuously improve our HRIS and People tooling, data quality, integrations, workflows, and reporting
- Administer and evolve our benefits (development budget, mental health platform, hardware, learning days) and keep them competitive per market
- Drive the adoption of AI across the People function: identify where AI agents and LLM-based tools can take over repetitive operational work, pilot them responsibly (with GDPR and employee-data sensitivity front of mind), document what you build, and turn what works into standard practice for the whole team
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition on a seamless handover from offer accepted to day one, and with Finance on headcount planning and comp cycles
- Be a trusted, discreet first point of contact for employees on anything People-related
👀 What You Bring
- 5+ years in People Operations or HR Operations, with at least part of that in a scaling tech/SaaS company
- Hands-on experience with multi-country European employment: you know that payroll in Austria, Germany and Spain are three different worlds, and you've navigated at least two of them
- Working knowledge of labor law in the countries we operate in (Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Sweden): you don't need to be a lawyer in all of them, but you know the fundamentals in at least two and have the rigor to navigate the rest with local counsel
- Experience supporting a company through rapid headcount growth or M&A-driven integration of new teams
- Experience working with EOR setups alongside owned legal entities
- HRIS ownership experience: you've administered a system end-to-end, not just used one
- A builder's attitude toward process: you default to automating, templating and documenting rather than doing the same manual task twice
- Genuine, demonstrated use of AI tools in your daily work: we will ask you what you've automated, what you decided not to automate and why, and how you verify AI output before trusting it
- Impeccable discretion, accuracy and follow-through: People data is the most sensitive data in the company and you treat it that way
- Full professional English, and ideally Polish at a professional level; you're comfortable being the operational glue in a fully international team
✅ What We Offer
We're building products that matter, and we know that takes focus, trust, and the right environment. Here's what you can expect:
- The possibility to grow, to try new things, and to fail and to learn in a supportive and encouraging environment
- 25 vacation days/year if you're in Austria
- Flexible working hours and a hybrid work arrangement
- Opportunities for personal and professional development
- A public transportation ticket
- Company hardware of your choice (Windows, Linux or Mac)
- Access to a spacious and bright office close to a subway station (Neubaugasse U3)
- A vibrant, inclusive company culture that values your well-being and personal growth
