The Italian fiscalization market is at a turning point. From 2026, regulations allow replacing the fiscal printer with a certified cloud solution. No more hardware, no more on-site installations, no more replacement cycles or periodic verification for sending fiscal data to the Tax Authority. Register now for the first in a series of webinars dedicated to cloud fiscalization in Italy.

The scenario: from fiscal printer to the cloud

For decades, Italian fiscalization meant hardware: a physical, approved device installed at every point of sale. The fiscal printer (RT) has been the undisputed standard, with replacement cycles, periodic checks and maintenance costs well known to industry operators. Today this paradigm is changing. The new technical specifications from the Italian Tax Authority (Agenzia delle Entrate) officially open the door to cloud fiscalization: a fully cloud-based, certified solution that replaces the physical device and enables the electronic transmission of fiscal data via cloud. This new architecture rests on three pillars: security (digital signature and data integrity guaranteed at infrastructure level), agility (regulatory updates distributed via software, with no physical intervention) and savings (elimination of hardware, maintenance and logistics costs).

The players: certification body, producer, provider, merchant

The regulation introduces a clear distinction between the stakeholders involved in the cloud fiscalization ecosystem. Understanding these roles is essential for anyone who wants to operate, or already operates, in this market. The certification body verifies the technical compliance of the solution against AdE specifications and issues the approval. The producer develops the certified fiscal solution and is responsible for its technical compliance. The provider manages the cloud infrastructure on which the fiscal service operates, with specific obligations regarding availability and security. The merchant uses the service to issue fiscal documents. Each role carries precise obligations and a chain of responsibility that leaves no room for ambiguity. In the webinar we will analyse in detail what each player is responsible for and what the risks are for those who have not yet understood their obligations.

Certification and approval: what the regulation says and how to navigate it

The technical specifications of the Agenzia delle Entrate set out precise requirements: from the architecture of the signing system to log management, from transmission security to operational continuity. The certification process, and subsequent Homologation, involves several institutional bodies and requires timelines that must be planned well in advance. In the webinar we will walk through the entire process: from technical requirements to realistic timelines, from the parties involved to the best practices already established in the other European markets where fiskaly operates.

Market size and opportunity

Italy has one of the largest installed bases of fiscal printers in Europe. The replacement cycle of existing RT devices, combined with the new possibility of adopting software solutions, creates a window of opportunity that will not reopen for years. fiskaly brings a unique perspective to this webinar: that of a company that has already lived through the transition to software fiscalization in other European countries and knows first-hand its adoption dynamics, timelines, challenges and concrete opportunities.
